City of Bath Athletic ClubCotswold Way Relay |
My thanks again go to the Team Leaders for dealing with all you runners, and for doing all the hard work for me, the Time Keepers and marshals, the teams doing the drinks stations, runners who stopped to help out others in distress and you runners yourselves for making the 2006 Cotswold Way Relay another successful day for us all.
Dave Coales' City of Bath AC Senior Men's team, 'The Coalition', successfully defended their title from last year, improving their time by 8 minutes. 20 minutes behind in 2nd place were Stroud who improved by 3 minutes, and 3rd place Cheltenham who themselves improved by 2 minutes. Bath completed the 2nd fastest time over the course since the event began in 1993, falling short of the course record by only 75 seconds.
A complete breakdown of the results by Category and by Stage follows.

Congratulations to Helen Fines and her Bristol & West team for smashing the course record for Mixed teams by 8 mins and 5 secs, and a close shave for the Senior Men's and overall course record with Dave Coales and the Coalition missing the record by 1 min and 15 seconds.
